Do you install large-format tiles?
Yes. Large-format tiles (like 24×48 inches) are highly popular but difficult to install. We use specialized leveling systems and premium mortars to ensure they are laid perfectly flat without lippage.
What is the best tile for a shower floor?
For safety, shower floors require slip resistance. We recommend smaller tiles (like mosaics, pennies, or 2x2s) because the increased amount of grout lines provides excellent traction for wet feet.
Do I have to seal my grout?
It depends on the grout used. Traditional cement grouts should be sealed annually to prevent staining. However, we highly recommend upgrading to high-performance or epoxy grouts, which never need sealing and are highly stain-resistant.
Can you tile over my existing tile floor?
In rare cases, yes, if the existing tile is perfectly sound and doors have clearance. However, we almost always recommend removing the old tile to properly inspect the subfloor and avoid height transition issues with other rooms.
How do you waterproof a custom shower?
We never rely on just cement board and tile. We install a comprehensive waterproofing membrane system behind the tile that completely seals the walls and shower pan, directing all moisture directly into the drain.
